Born 16 April 1973 in Prague, where he lives and works today. Studied art history at Charles University’s Faculty of Arts in Prague (1992–1997), after which he studied in Jiří David’s visual communications studio and the studios of painting and new media at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (1997–2003). He is a founding member and curator of the Tranzitdisplay art and theory platform.
In Night of the World, Baladrán engages in an analysis of an additional aspect of human consciousness – the exciting and somewhat mystical moment of genesis of a creative act within the human mind. In this two-minute video contemplation, Baladrán explains why his videos always start and end with several seconds of darkness.
